As a community member, 30+ years, of North Vancouver, and Executive Director of the search and rescue incident prevention program (BC AdventureSmart) for the past 18 years, I value, and appreciate, the qualities that Kulvir Mann brings to this community on the North Shore. Kulvir is engaged, she's a good listener and empathetic to the needs of a flourishing community which is an ever expanding, and diverse, neighborhood. Her attention to community safety, her involvement in teamwork, her compassionate approach with students and parents (building healthy relationships) and leadership style all add value to a vibrant community that has, and sets, high standards for the school district. As a community member of North Vancouver and professional who seeks and supports other compassionate leaders, I endorse Kulvir Mann for trustee at the North Vancouver School District.

I first encountered Kulvir several years ago, when I was a volunteer for the Ridgeway Elementary PAC. My initial impressions were that Kulvir was a very kind, thoughtful, compassionate individual. She has continued to demonstrate those beautiful qualities every time we have crossed paths since. What I did not realize when I first met her, was that Kulvir is also incredibly smart, driven, resourceful, and tireless in her dedication to supporting positive advancements in the North Vancouver school community. I continue to be astounded at her energy, optimism, and ability to listen. As a community member with both young children and aging parents in North Vancouver, I am honoured to endorse Kulvir Mann as a School Trustee for North Vancouver.

It is my pleasure to provide this reference for Kulvir Mann.  I met Kulvir in 2010 when our children attended the same elementary school.  She was very active in leadership roles at the school and is one of the hardest working people I know! Her positive, “can do” attitude is infectious and I know many people who were delighted to support her in her campaign for Trustee during the last election. In addition to being an extremely committed and hard worker, she is also funny, kind and generous.  I voted for her as Trustee in the last election and will do so again this year without hesitation.

What makes a strong public school trustee? In my opinion it’s authentic engagement, being aware of all communities within the school district, being visible and accessible, attending as many events as humanly possible and staying on top of current education, as well as, municipal issues. If you consider Kulvir’s efforts as a community member and trustee seeking re-election, in my opinion Kulvir fully meets all of these criteria.

I’ve known Kulvir Mann for two years through several samosa fundraising campaigns. Working together with Kulvir, I consider myself extremely fortunate to have met her. Kulvir is the most conscientious and diligent person I've ever met. She's upbeat, hardworking, dedicated, and approachable. Throughout the fundraisers, I noticed the parents' love and respect for her. She is well-known among parents and genuinely cares about the community. Kulvir is the most cheerful and warm-hearted person I know.

Kulvir is one of the most dedicated and dynamic educational leaders that I have had the pleasure of collaborating with.  Her energy and enthusiasm to create inclusive and impactful learning environments has resulted in countless initiatives that are making lasting change in the lives of thousands of students in the community.  She leads with integrity, is resourceful, and inspires cooperation to achieve common goals.

I have known Kulvir since I was in elementary school. She is a respected stakeholder in our North Vancouver community who treats everyone with kindness. In the District Student Leadership Council, Kulvir was a role model to our students at Handsworth Secondary School; she was compassionate and understanding. She’s proved that her contribution to our education system was both essential and irreplaceable. As I graduate and move onto a new chapter in my life, I have reflected on our school community and its efforts to improve student learning and wellbeing. Kulvir perfectly represents our values and always strives to make positive impacts. Her drive to help others is what differentiates her from other leaders

I have had the opportunity to work with Kulvir for the past 4 years on developing physical literacy in North Vancouver students as part of a cross sectoral partner table funded by the Ministry of Health.  Kulvir is a tireless champion committed to making her community better every day!  Her passion and tremendous networking ability make her a highly effective leader in her work.  I look forward to making change with Kulvir in North Vancouver well into the future.

Kulvir has been a very effective School Trustee for the North Vancouver School District. She has strived to ensure that the school district is inclusive and serves all students. Resource are allocated fairly to ensure effective student achievement. Kulvir constantly engages with the community to ensure that students in North Vancouver are getting the best possible education.
